The committee of the XIX Symposium of Mexican Studies and Students in the UK 2022 invites researchers and students to submit abstracts for poster or oral presentations at our XIX Symposium of Mexican Studies and Students in the UK 2022, this year organised by the Mexican Societies of two universities: The University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon University.

“Reflecting on a Sustainable Future” is a multi-disciplinary symposium that aims to engage the participants in the current trend towards energy transition and circular economy while recognising the impact and relation with peacebuilding and reconciliation as the critical aspects for sustainable development.

The symposium will be held in Aberdeen (Scotland) during the 26-29th of July, 2022 in a presential format. The symposium will feature various talks, inter-disciplinary panels, guided visits to our sponsors’ facilities, exhibitions, presentations, discussions, and networking opportunities.

The speakers will be allowed to discuss the suggested (but not limited to) topics encompassed within four different categories, divided into two sections in two focused days.

STEM and Business section

  • Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics

  • Finances, Business and Management


Humanities section

  • Security, Politics, Governance and Internationalisation

  • Culture , Arts, History, Theology and Human Rights


Submission guidelines:

Abstracts submission should be done before 23:59 GMT on the 24th of June, 2022 using the online form, at the bottom of this page.

All abstracts will be reviewed by the committee and accepted for poster, oral presentations or rejected. Acceptance will be based on topic, research content, and relevance. The outcome of the review will be submitted via email by the 30th of June, 2022. Some abstracts will be selected for a panel discussion during the conference upon the author’s approval.
